HOW THE LOVEARTH BAG CHANGED ONE's LIFE??

Nilasari was only 4 years old when her mother passed away. She has an older sister and brother and a father who tried to make ends meet by farming cassava on someone's land.
It was the beginning of 2010 when she dropped out her 7th grade  and decided to leave her hometown, Rembang -Central Java and went on bus to Surabaya-East Java, searching for a job. Life has been very difficult in her village as his father constantly ill from TB and needs serious treatment. With the high spirit to help her father, Nilasari tried to follow her sister and brother's paths to find work at such an early age in big town.

Faith has brought Nilasari to our home as we were looking for a nanny to babysit our kids.We were instantly love this girl knowing how great she is to our kids. They were just quickly matched. We were never realized that she was only 14 years old!We found out about this when we started to do the charity work for Smile Across Nations three months after she became favorite nanny for our kids.
Today, Nilasari is no longer our nanny but she is one of our supporters for the charity works.
After intensive training in a sewing class, now she is able to produce Lovearth Bags. Nilasari earns $5 per bag that she produced. In one week, she can finished 4 bags that gives her $20 per week or $80 per month. The money she gets now is much higher compare to any other house serving or baby sitting works in our country.
With her money, now she is able to continue her education. She has enrolled night class to finish her Junior High School.
This is just a little story on how the lovearth bag has changed someone's life...

** Each Lovearth Bag you purchase will help:
1) The orphans and poor women who made the bags

2) Early ducation and nutrition program for children in need in Aceh, East Lombok and East Java
3) The Earth!.Because the bag made from garment waste and using non electric sewing machine.

KAY's COLLECTION SUPPORTS SMILES ACROSS NATIONS

KAY's COLLECTION SUPPORTS SMILES ACROSS NATIONS

by Kay's Collections on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 2:04am
Do you know, that Indonesia has population of 240, 271, 522 and more than 76 millions are children, the fourth largest child population in the world. The severe inequity of resource distribution to many parts of the country affect children disproportionately in their early and developing years. Over 2 million children under 5 are malnourished and confirmed that 50% of the population lives on less than $2 a day.

Kay’s Collection supports Smiles Across Nations, an independent organization with the vision to create lasting change in the lives of children in need in East Lombok, East Java and Aceh. Every purchase of the product, 35% of the sale will be donated to early education and nutrition program for the children in Batujong (East Lombok), Porong (East Java) and Neuheun (Aceh).

Our target beneficiaries for this project is 150 children in need in 3 locations as mentioned above. Budget for each child to improve their health and education through nutrition program and school books distribution is @Rp.900,000 per child for 6 months program.
Longer term objective, we plan to build simple children centers as a safe play area for these children.

The lovearth bags sales and other merchandise in Kay's Collection is just the small start to reach our objective in helping the children. We do hope that we will reach the targeted fund by the end of this year so then we can start to implement the program in the beginning of January 2011.
